Christian Service University (CSU) recognises the career progression of Mr. Frank Aduku John, a long-serving staff member who has advanced from janitorial service to the position of Principal Library Assistant over a career spanning more than two decades.
Mr. Aduku joined CSU in 2003 as a Janitor and was subsequently reassigned to the University Library, where he began building a career in information services. Over the years, he has contributed to library operations, including collection management, document control, records management, and user support services for students and staff.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Kumasi Technical University and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field from Christ Apostolic University College. He has additionally obtained two postgraduate qualifications: an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and an MA in Information Studies from the University of Ghana.
Throughout his time at CSU, Mr. Aduku has undertaken a range of roles within the Library, including reprographic services and circulation desk support, progressively developing expertise in information management and user services. In his current role as Principal Library Assistant, he supports the Librarian in the management of the Library and supervises the day-to-day administrative and support activities of junior Library staff.
Mr. Aduku has also served on University committees, including the CSU @50 Anniversary Committee and disciplinary committees, and is an active contributor to the University Chaplaincy. His professional affiliations include membership in the Ghana Library Authority, the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply, and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
He has expressed a commitment to further study, with an interest in contributing to academia as a knowledge management professional and lecturer.
Mr. Aduku advised younger colleagues to, “be passionate about your work, no matter where you start. Pursue knowledge consistently, embrace every opportunity to grow, and not to despise humble beginnings.”
