The Christian Service University College, accredited by the National Accreditation Board invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Director of Finance:
The Person:
- Must be a committed evangelical Christian with good spiritual and moral track record.
- Must be a distinguished professional with capacity to motivate, manage, direct and monitor staff.
- Must possess strategic thinking and project proposal writing skills.
- Must exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organisational skills and high level of Computer Literacy.
- Must have passion, drive and capacity for fund mobilisation.
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be a Member of a recognised professional Accountancy/Auditing Body (ICA/ACCA/CA/CPA, etc). A master’s degree preferably in Accounting/Finance would be an advantage.
- Must have served in a University or analogous institution for at least ten (10) years. Or
- Minimum of ten year post qualification experience in a reputable and recognised practising firm, industry, commerce and/or public service.
Responsibilities:
- Advises the President, Management Board and the Council on the financial administration of the University College.
- Promotes the financial well-being of the University College by providing efficient financial management support systems, monitoring and safeguarding all financial assets of the University College.
- Ensures achievement of the goals and objectives of the University College by overseeing the preparation of annual budget statements using models to forecast revenue and following established policies for expenditures, providing quarterly management reports and annual financial statements.
- Facilitates the provision of adequate financial information to the University College Council and support the President to implement Council’s decisions through established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Support the President to achieve fund mobilisation targets
- Ensures compliance with international Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), rules and regulations, supervising, and facilitating the preparation and maintenance of required and appropriate financial records and reports.
- Management of the treasury and preserving financial stability.
- Ensures access of the external auditors to records and reports during the conduct of the University College’s annual audit.
- Develops an effective financial processes and systems with appropriate technologies and controls to guide work toward expected outcomes.
- Ensures development of incentive funding and cost recovery models that support innovation and growth.
- Ensures efficient and effective operation of the procurement guidelines of the University College.
- Remains competent and current to respond to all statutory requirements.
- Ensures that various assignments related to financial issues are completed in the best interests of the University by accepting and accomplishing all other tasks assigned by the President.
Terms of Appointment
The appointment shall be full time and a contract of two (2) years in the first instance and subject to renewal based on performance.
