A delegation from Christian Service University (CSU), led by the University Chaplain, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, visited Rt. Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Henry Brew-Riverson on July 17, 2026, to congratulate him on his 97th birthday, celebrated on July 15.
A renowned Methodist clergyman and former Secretary of the Conference of the Methodist Church Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Brew-Riverson also served as Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Education Service.
The visit was in recognition of Rt. Rev. Dr. Brew-Riverson’s long-standing relationship with CSU as a friend of the University, a former member of its Council and Board of Trustees, and a respected voice on its history. He was among those present at the first Christian Service College Committee meeting convened by Mr. William Henry Chapman in Kumasi in 1973, and went on to serve on the then College’s Council and later its Board of Trustees.
During the visit, Rt. Rev. Dr. Brew-Riverson reflected on his years of association with the University, recalling the people and milestones that have shaped its journey. When asked what had sustained his commitment to CSU over the years, he pointed simply to his faith in God and his early formation through the Scripture Union.
Affectionately known as ‘Paa Brew’, Rt. Rev. Dr. Brew-Riverson remains a familiar presence at major University functions, including the installation of CSU’s first Chancellor last December.
The University joins his family, friends and the wider Christian community in celebrating his life and continued legacy.
