Christian Service University proudly celebrates Professor Asuamah Adade-Yeboah, affectionately called ‘the English Man’ by students and colleagues for his passion and dedication to English and Communication Studies. His remarkable journey in academia, research, and leadership has left an indelible mark on CSU and the wider educational community.
Prof. Adade-Yeboah joined CSU in 2006 as a part-time lecturer, teaching Communication Skills at the School of Business, and transitioned into full-time teaching in 2008, when the Department of Communication Studies was established. He played a pioneering role alongside Rev. Dei Awuku in developing the BA Communication Studies programme, which began with just 14 students, including Mr. Kwame Frimpong, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi, and Ms. Cassandra Twum, former PRO of the Ghana Education Service.
Over the years, he has taught courses in English Language, Communication Skills, Speech Writing and Presentation, Creative and Expository Writing, and Literature. Beyond the classroom, he has served as Head of the Department of Communication since 2014, Dean of Students (2011–2014), and on numerous committees, including the Academic Board and Examination Malpractices. He is also a Language and Copy Editor of the Journal of Applied Sciences, Arts and Business (JASAB).
Educational Background and Scholarly Works
Prof. Asuamah Adade-Yeboah pursued diverse and progressive studies in English, Literature, and Communication: PhD (Ongoing), M.A. Comparative Literature, and B.A. (Hons.) English/Law, respectively; Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. Other qualifications include Diploma in English, University College of Education, Winneba, and Post-Secondary Certificate in Education, Berekum Teacher Training College.
A scholar of international repute, Prof. Adade-Yeboah has authored several books, including A Searching Look at English Grammar for Effective Communication (2019), and published widely in peer-reviewed journals including African Journal of Applied Research (AJAS), and World Journal of English Language (WJEL). His research interests cover language teaching, linguistics, media, and the dynamics of social issues in literature. His promotion was granted upon submission and consideration of over twenty-two (22) peer-reviewed journals by the University’s Management, followed by further external assessment.
Professional Affiliation / Community Service
He is a member of the Linguistics Association of Ghana (LAG), the National Academic and Professional Writing Teachers’ Association (NAPWTA), and an active contributor on ResearchGate. A devoted Christian and elder at the Assemblies of God Church, he combines his academic role with mentorship, undergraduate and postgraduate project supervision, and dedicated community service. Prof. is known for his warmth, intellectual rigor, and guiding force to generations of students across faculties, in shaping their communication skills and professional confidence.
