AIM
The programme will equip graduates with the requisite skills to deal with the problems of small and medium scale enterprises in Ghana and to fill the middle-level manpower needs of the public and private sectors of the Ghanaian economy. This would be achieved particularly through the third trimester field practical programme practiced by the University.
The Diploma in Business studies programme seeks to achieve the following objectives.
- Develop the managerial and entrepreneurial skills of the graduates.
- To produce the needed entry level manpower personnel to manage small and medium scale enterprises and provide support to top management in public and private sectors.

- Provide students with a broad understanding of core business principles, including management, finance, marketing, economics, and operations, to build a solid foundation for understanding how businesses operate.
- Equip students with practical skills necessary for day-to-day business operations, including problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities. The program aims to ensure that graduates can effectively contribute to organizational success.
- Prepare students to take on entry-level roles in management by instilling a basic understanding of organizational structures, leadership principles, and effective teamwork. This prepares them for supervisory or assistant roles within businesses.
- Emphasize the importance of communication in business settings by training students in business writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills, which are essential for internal and external business communications.
- Encourage an entrepreneurial mindset by introducing students to business planning, small business management, and innovation. This prepares them for self-employment or to contribute creatively within existing businesses.
Lay a solid academic foundation for students who wish to continue their studies, enabling them to transition smoothly to advanced qualifications such as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or specialized fields within business.

Entry requirements for admission
Admission is open to all who qualify as follows:

- TVET/NAC II qualification or equivalent for vocational track applicants.
- Minimum of six passes in WASSCE/SSSCE, with three credits in core and elective subjects.
- Mature students (25+ years) with proof of age and successful completion of an entrance exam.
- Recognition of equivalent foreign qualifications approved by GTEC.
- Applicants with Diploma in Business Studies DBS.
- Advance Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) and RSA stage III
- General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) or RSA Stage II with Grade A-D in five (5) subjects including Accounting, Business Management, English Language, and Mathematics.
- TVET/NAC II qualification or equivalent for vocational track applicants.
