The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Christian Service University (CSU), led by President Richard Owusu, on Monday, June 9, 2025, commissioned the long-awaited Students’ Arena in the company of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Stephen Banahene, and fellow executives.
The facility, first initiated by the 2022/2023 SRC administration under H.E. Emmanuel Amegavi Sosu, had stalled for nearly two years until the 2024/2025 SRC prioritized its completion. Alongside the arena, ten new lovers’ benches were also commissioned to expand leisure spaces for students.
The Pro Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Banahene, commended the SRC executives for demonstrating continuity in leadership and urged students to make good use of the facility while ensuring its proper upkeep.

The SRC President, popularly known as Adwuma Wura, expressed appreciation to management and colleagues for supporting the project. He emphasized that the arena reflects the power of consistent student leadership and called on students to take ownership of the facility.
“This project began with my predecessor, and today we have had the privilege to complete it. I urge all students to maintain and preserve this space so it continues to serve current and future generations,” Owusu stated.
The commissioning marks one of the first major achievements of the Richard–Lilly administration, which came into office in April 2024 after a record-breaking SRC election. The initiative reinforces their commitment to student welfare, inclusivity, and impactful governance.
