
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Christian Service University, Dr. Stephen Banahene, has stated that Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation are redefining higher education globally, positioning universities for expanded access, interdisciplinary innovation, and global collaboration.
Addressing students during the University’s 51st Matriculation Ceremony for the January 2025/2026 cohort, Dr. Banahene noted that higher education is experiencing one of its most dynamic periods in history.
“Across the world, universities are being reshaped by Artificial Intelligence, digital transformation, global collaboration and research-driven innovation,” he said.
He explained that modern education now extends beyond traditional classroom models, incorporating virtual mobility, skills-based learning, and entrepreneurial training.
“The world no longer rewards certificates alone. It rewards critical thinking, creativity, digital competence and adaptability,” he emphasised.
Dr. Banahene indicated that Christian Service University is redesigning its academic programmes to align with technological advancement and emerging global trends.
With AI-driven systems and digital learning tools expanding access to knowledge, he noted that universities such as CSU are increasingly positioned to reach learners beyond geographical boundaries.
“Our responsibility as a university is to remain relevant and forward-looking while maintaining ethical foundations,” he stated.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor reiterated that CSU’s integration of technology into teaching and research aims to prepare graduates who can thrive in an interconnected and technology-driven global environment.
