CSU Organises Short Course in Political Entrepreneurship & Social Media Campaign Course

The Department of Planning of the Christian Service University (CSU), Kumasi, has held a two-week virtual Short Course in Political Entrepreneurship and Social Media Campaign — an innovative programme designed to equip emerging political actors with the values, skills, and digital competencies needed for ethical leadership in the 21st century.

Delivered entirely via Zoom, the course attracted 30 participants from Ghana and activists abroad, including students, political activists, assembly members, campaign managers, NGO leaders, civic society organisations, bloggers, and communication professionals. The diverse participation affirms CSU’s growing reputation for excellence and impact-driven training.

Participants were taken through a structured curriculum covering constitutional and electoral laws, political marketing and branding, social media activism, digital fundraising, data analytics and AI in campaigns, public policy analysis, and crisis communication. The modules emphasized that political leadership must promote ethical governance, national development, and collective well-being.

The programme was led by Dr. Charles Dwumfour Osei (Department of Planning and Development) in collaboration with Nana Danso Boafo, Dean of the School of Business, with support from other seasoned facilitators from academia, policy, and legal practice. Participants also benefitted from a special session with renowned Ghanaian pollster Mr. Mustapha Mussah Dankwah, who provided practical insights into political data interpretation and electoral trends.

Course Impact

Attendees praised the course organisers for the practical relevance, and the depth of expertise shared by facilitators. Many reported a strengthened understanding of ethical political behaviour, constitutional compliance, digital mobilization, and strategic communication.

Mini Graduation Ceremony

At a brief closing ceremony on behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dean of the School of Business Nana Danso Boafo reaffirmed CSU’s commitment to offering value-driven professional training.

“CSU stands for Integrity, Excellence, Stewardship and Service, and this course demonstrates these values in action,” he said.

Co-facilitator Dr. Dwumfour Osei commended participants for their dedication, noting that the success of the maiden edition signals CSU’s readiness to scale up capacity-building in digital governance and political leadership.
