Christian Service University (CSU), Kumasi, has held its 50th Matriculation Ceremony to formally welcome nearly 1,200 first batch of first-year students for the 2025/2026 Academic Year (September Session)—marking the University’s second matriculation since attaining its Presidential Charter.

The colourful ceremony, was the first to be presided over by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Stephen Banahene, who delivered his maiden address with a strong call to integrity, hard work, and excellence—core values that define the Christian Service University.
Admission Statistics:
A total of 1,148 students were admitted at the end of the first session, comprising 907 females (79%)and 241 males (21%). The intake included 8 Diploma (0.7%), 962 undergraduate (83.8%), and 178 postgraduates (15.5%) students. Of these, 840 students (73%) have registered—made up of 98 postgraduates (11.67%), 738 undergraduates (87.86%), and 4 Diploma (0.48%) students, he noted.
Dr. Banahene commended the Freshmen for choosing CSU, one of Ghana’s leading private tertiary institutions. He reminded them that matriculation marks not only their formal admission but also a binding commitment to uphold the University’s rules, regulations, and cherished values.
He reaffirmed the University’s zero tolerance for examination malpractice, cautioning that offenders will be rusticated for one academic year. He further encouraged the freshmen to pursue their studies with honesty, perseverance, humility, and diligence, assuring them of CSU’s supportive environment grounded in the values of “Excellence and Integrity.”

The Registrar, Mr. Andrews Kingsley Doku, reiterated the University’s firm stance against examination malpractice during the administration of the Matriculation Oath. He admonished the students to remain disciplined, focused, and upright in all their pursuits throughout their academic journey.
In a brief exhortation, the University Chaplain, Rev. Anthony Boateng Agyenim, referencing Proverbs 16:1–3, reminded students that while personal effort can bring success, true fulfilment comes from aligning one’s plans with God’s will. He concluded with Psalm 37:5–6, urging them to commit their ways to the Lord for lasting success.
The ceremony was well attended by Senior Management, faculty, staff, guardians, and the media, with matriculants decently dressed, marking the start of their academic journey and reaffirming CSU’s mission to develop ethical and transformational leaders.
