Since its inception in 1974, Christian Service University (CSU) has set aside Wednesdays as Midweek Service—a time of communal worship, praise, and evangelism—reflecting the institution’s unwavering commitment to instilling godly values across the University community. Mondays are similarly dedicated to a Staff Fellowship Programme, a weekly gathering designed exclusively for staff to engage in worship, spiritual growth, and mutual encouragement.
The University Chaplain, Rev. Anthony Boateng-Agyenim underscored this commitment, noting:
“As a Christian University, the character formation of an individual, especially our staff and students, is core to our long-cherished values. Providing service with the God factor is highly ensured, as instituted in the initial statement of our five core values: ‘the Lordship of Jesus Christ.’”
The 2024/2025 Chaplaincy Programme, themed “GO THE EXTRA MILE” (Matthew 5:41), emphasized selfless service — urging staff and students to go beyond the ordinary for God’s glory, personal growth, and the wellbeing of the community. Special services such as the Commencement and Communion Service, the Commissioning and Thanksgiving Service for Graduating Classes, and a Monthly Prayer Service—held every first Wednesday—were integral to the semester’s activities.
As part of its Church Partnership Drive, CSU worshipped with Mount of Olives Presbyterian Church, Patasi, on July 13, 2025. The delegation, led by Rev. Boateng-Agyenim, was privileged to lead the liturgy and deliver the sermon at both services on the theme “The Good Samaritan.” These engagements strengthened the faith of students and staff alike, fostering spiritual growth and reflective living.
The semester’s activities climaxed with a special service to mark Ghana’s National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, instituted by President John Dramani Mahama—an occasion that reinforced CSU’s national relevance and spiritual responsibility.
In a related development, the University celebrated a milestone in student leadership with the election and swearing-in of its second female Students Chaplain for the Students Representative Council, Miss Sheilla Badu, for the 2025/2026 academic year—reflecting CSU’s inclusive and progressive leadership culture.
