Christian Service University SRC Elects International Executive

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Christian Service University (CSU), Kumasi has elected its first International student to its Executive Committee for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. Miss Chiamaka Francisca Aguh, a Nigerian student, has been elected SRC Women’s Commissioner, making her the first international student to occupy a major SRC executive position since the University’s establishment in 1974.

Chiamaka is a Level 300 student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Registered General Nursing.

As SRC Women’s Commissioner, she serves as the chief welfare officer of the student body, responsible for promoting inclusivity, protecting dignity, advancing gender equity, and ensuring the holistic welfare of all students — both male and female. Her leadership goal is to make CSU a model of inclusive student governance where “every voice matters and no one is left behind.”

Before contesting for this position, Chiamaka had already demonstrated strong leadership capabilities. She previously served as General Secretary of the Nursing and Midwifery Students’ Association (NAMSA) and Financial Secretary of the International Students’ Association (ISA). These roles refined her discipline, communication, and organizational excellence.

Speaking about her motivation, she noted that her decision was guided by a desire to bridge cultures and contribute meaningfully to student welfare. According to her, leadership “is not defined by nationality but by service, vision, and commitment to improving lives.”

Chiamaka’s vision for her tenure focuses on developing a welfare system that is transparent, sustainable, and responsive to student needs. Her interests include policy advocacy for women and youth, healthcare innovation, and entrepreneurship—areas that align with CSU’s mission to develop responsible and transformative leaders.

Beyond campus, Chiamaka uses her international networks and digital platforms to share her experiences and highlight CSU’s core values of excellence and integrity while contributing to global conversations on student development and empowerment.

Chiamaka Francisca Aguh’s election marks a new chapter in CSU’s student leadership, reinforcing the University’s dedication to inclusivity and its belief that leadership is enriched by diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
