Christian Service University Congratulates Alumna Asakia Hawawu Hanaan 1st Runner-Up – 2025 Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB)

Christian Service University (CSU), Kumasi, proudly celebrates Asakia Hawawu Hanaan for emerging as the 1st runner-up in the 2025 Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) pageant, held on October 19, 2025. Representing the Upper East Region, Asakia captivated audiences nationwide with her eloquence, confidence, and deep portrayal of Northern Ghanaian culture and heritage.

Educational Background

Ms. Asakia Hanaan is a graduate of CSU’s Bachelor of Communication Studies (Broadcast Journalism) programme, Class of 2024. Her educational journey began at Nadeng-Zein Academy and gained momentum when her outstanding performance in the 2018 High Schools Debate Contest earned her a full-tuition scholarship to pursue her studies at the University of Choice — Christian Service University in 2020.

GMB 2025 Performance

Asakia wins star performer

Throughout the 2025 pageant, Queen Asakia consistently demonstrated exceptional intellect, creativity, and stagecraft. Her final-day performance won national admiration for its cultural depth and artistic excellence. She received 20 nominations and five awards, including 3-Star Performer, Most Eloquent Contestant, and Best Model, solidifying her reputation as one of the competition’s most remarkable contestants.

Her social project, focused on ‘empowering women in agriculture’, underscores her commitment to community transformation. The initiative seeks to provide education, mentorship, and resources to help rural women become leaders and innovators in the agricultural sector—an aspiration that aligns with CSU’s core values of “Excellence and Service” to humanity.

Prior Pageantry and Leadership Experience

Asakia’s success is built on years of dedication and resilience. Before gaining national spotlight through GMB, Asakia had already distinguished herself in several competitions. She was crowned Face of Christian Service University College (now CSU), in 2021, where she also won the People’s Choice Award. In 2023, she earned the title of Most Eloquent Contestant in a National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) contest.

She also held regional titles including Miss Upper East Ghana and Miss Tourism, and was adjudged Overall Best Performer in the “Debate and Justify Your Inclusion” category.
