The Chaplaincy of Christian Service University (CSU) commenced the 2026 calendar year with a series of activities aimed at strengthening the spiritual life of staff and students and preparing the university community for the academic and administrative responsibilities of the year.
According to the University Chaplain, Rev. Anthony Boateng Agyenim, the first major activity was the annual Staff New Year Retreat held in January. The retreat brought together management and staff to seek God’s guidance and direction for the year ahead.
The retreat was organised on the theme, “Fresh Grace for Excellence,” drawing inspiration from 1 Corinthians 8:9 and 9:8. Resource persons from the Bible Society of Ghana facilitated sessions that encouraged participants to reflect on their calling and responsibilities while committing the year’s activities into God’s hands.
Following the retreat, the University community gathered for the Semester Commencement Service. The service provided an opportunity for staff and students to worship, pray and receive spiritual encouragement as the second semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year began.
The Chaplaincy also played a key role in orientation and matriculation activities for newly admitted students. Through presentations and interactions, fresh students were introduced to the University’s Christian values and the importance of spiritual growth alongside academic development.
Rev. Agyenim noted that these activities formed part of the Chaplaincy’s broader mandate to nurture the spiritual well-being of the University community and create an environment that supports holistic education.
He expressed appreciation to management, staff and students for their participation and commitment to the University’s spiritual programmes.
