Alumni Connect: CSU Celebrates First Female Head Pastor Of Grace Baptist Church

The Management and the entire CSU community celebrates its alumna, Rev. (Mrs.) Mary Fosu for her elevation as the first female Head Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church, Amakom, Kumasi. Rev. Mrs. Fosu pursued Bachelor of Arts in Theology in the then Christian Service College from 2002 and graduated with first Class Honours in 2006.

Established in 1968, the Grace Baptist Church is one of oldest and most influential denominations within the Baptist fraternity across Ghana. From its humble beginnings, the Church has made significant strides to impact society with Christian values and community service. The Church has enjoyed transformational leadership over the years particularly under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Osei Wusu (rtd). Now the mantle has fallen on a woman of virtue and substance, who received her theological education, with sponsorship of the Church from the Christian Service College (CSC), now Christian Service University (CSU).

Prior to her elevation, Rev. Mrs. Fosu served as the Associate Pastor in charge of the Teens Ministry from 2006 to 2018; Senior Associate Pastor from 2018 to 2024; Acting Head pastor from November to December, 2024 and subsequently, Head Pastor in January 2025. Additionally, Rev. Mary Fosu has served as the Chaplain for the Ghana Baptist University College (GBUC) from January 2014 to date and the Chairperson of the Kumasi Area Baptist Minister Fellowship since January 2020 to date. With her elevation, the anointed woman of God is expected to shepherd the Church and continue the legacy of her predecessors.

As a third born child, Rev. Mrs. Fosu is married to Rev. Dr. John Kwasi Fosu (an alumnus of CSU) and blessed with three children.

CSU wishes to congratulate Rev. Mrs. Mary Fosu and wish her God’s speed. The task is herculean but the grace of God is gargantuan to surmount all challenges. Christian Service University is proud of her achievements and the significant achievements of all its alumni in transforming society in accordance with the vision and mission of the university.

Rev. Mrs. Mary Fosu, Ayekoo!
