The Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences at Christian Service University (CSU), through its Department of Nursing, has launched a six-week Access Course for holders of the Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAC/HAC) and Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP) certificates awarded by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (NMC).
The course serves as a preparatory pathway for certificate holders who aspire to pursue a top-up Degree in Nursing. It provides health workers with the opportunity to upgrade their professional qualifications and progress toward earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
The Access Course was first rolled out in June 2025, and the second edition is scheduled to begin in March 2026. Delivered through a flexible online format, the six-week programme is designed to accommodate working professionals while maintaining the academic standards required for progression into CSU’s nursing degree programme.
The initiative forms part of the University’s commitment to expanding access to higher education and continuous professional development for healthcare practitioners. CSU intends to run the Access Course annually, creating a structured pathway for NAC and NAP personnel seeking to advance their careers in the nursing profession.
Prospective applicants must hold a valid certificate issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana, which remains a mandatory admission requirement. Application forms can be obtained in person at the Christian Service University, Kumasi.
