CSU Honours Graduating Student for Supporting the Chapman Library

A graduating student of Christian Service University (CSU), Mr. Joseph Asante, received special recognition at the University’s 49th Graduation Ceremony for his  contribution towards the transformation of the Chapman Library Relaxation Arena.

Mr. Asante was presented with a citation acknowledging his generous support in renovating the space, turning what was once an ordinary area into a welcoming environment where students can pause, reflect, and renew their academic energy. The recognition highlights his commitment to nurturing a vibrant learning atmosphere that promotes both academic wellbeing and student engagement.

The Librarian of the University, Miss Vivian Amponsah Chapman Library described the gesture as a meaningful legacy that reflects the spirit of service and generosity the University seeks to instil in its students and alumni. “His support has not only enhanced the physical space of the Library but has also inspired a culture of giving back within the University community.”

A graduate of the University with a background in Communication and currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Corporate Planning and Governance, Mr. Asante noted that his academic journey at the institution has shaped his thinking, strengthened his leadership capacity, and deepened his commitment to service.

“CSU has made me more knowledgeable, more articulate, and a critical thinker,” he said, adding that the University’s reputation for quality teaching and learning continues to attract students who desire both academic and personal development.

In his closing remarks, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Stephen Banahene indicated that recognising such contributions serves as an encouragement to the wider alumni community. He emphasised that alumni support, regardless of scale, plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the institution.

Mr. Asante’s recognition formed part of the highlights of the 49th Graduation Ceremony, which brought together University leadership, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and partners in celebration of the achievements of the graduating class.
