AI Era and Higher Education
The Acting Vice-Chancellor observed that universities worldwide are being reshaped by Artificial Intelligence, digital transformation, interdisciplinary learning, and research-driven innovation.
“The world no longer rewards certificates alone. It rewards critical thinking, creativity, digital competence, ethical leadership, adaptability, and global awareness,” he stated.
He indicated that CSU has continuously redesigned its curricula to respond to rapid technological and economic changes, ensuring that graduates remain relevant in a digitally evolving world.
Education Beyond the Market
Dr. Banahene emphasised that CSU prepares students “not just for today’s jobs, but for tomorrow’s world,” where knowledge must be combined with character.
Quoting Colossians 3:23, he reminded students that academic work is both intellectual pursuit and service to God, adding that excellence, integrity, and service remain foundational to the University’s identity.
“Our nation needs graduates who are competent in skill, firm in faith, strong in moral conviction, and passionate about national development,” he stressed.
He cautioned against academic dishonesty, noting that integrity remains the foundation of credible leadership.
