Shiella Badu, a Level 300 Bachelor of Arts in Theology with Administration student, has been elected as the second female Student Representative Council (SRC) Chaplain in the history of Christian Service University.
A Music Minister and Preschool Principal with five years of active service in church evangelism and community outreach, Ms. Badu sees the chaplaincy as an opportunity to serve God and the university community in a deeper way — offering spiritual guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear to students.
Ms. Badu intends to strengthen student fellowship activities, introduce more interactive Bible study sessions, and launch mentorship programmes that connect experienced professionals with students for both spiritual and career growth.
She explained that her vision is to see “a chaplaincy that is vibrant, inclusive, and spiritually empowering — where students leave not only academically equipped but also grounded in godly values.”
Quoting her guiding principle from Proverbs 3:6 — “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” — Ms. Badu advised students not to make Jesus a part of their lives but the center of it.
Ms. Badu succeeds Sandrah Appiah, who made history as the first female SRC Chaplain of CSU. Together, their consecutive leadership marks a significant chapter for women in campus ministry, reflecting a growing presence of female voices in shaping the University’s spiritual life.
