Christian Service University Offers Scholarship to the People of Asafo

As part of its commitment to social impact and educational empowerment, Christian Service University has extended a scholarship package to the people of Asafo in Kumasi. A delegation led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel K. Afrane, paid a working visit to the Asafohene, Akyamfour Asafo Boakye Agyemang-Bonsu, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to present official documentation of the offer.

The scholarship, which stems from CSU’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, will support two brilliant but needy Asafo students every four years—one in Nursing or Midwifery, and the other in any undergraduate programme at CSU. It covers tuition fees only, with recipients responsible for accommodation and incidental costs.

This gesture follows the Asafohene’s representation of His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at CSU’s 50th Anniversary Grand Durbar last year. In appreciation, CSU pledged to contribute meaningfully to Asafo’s educational development.

Expressing his gratitude, the Asafohene commended CSU’s leadership for its continuous commitment to transforming lives through education. He emphasized the value of higher education in building strong communities and assured to ensuring the scholarship is awarded to deserving candidates.

Expanding Access Through Academic Merit

Beyond its partnership with Asafo, CSU continues to offer academic scholarships to high-performing SSSCE/WASSCE candidates nationwide. Students who apply to the University with aggregate 6 to 15 in six subjects —comprising three core and three electives—are eligible for consideration under CSU’s merit-based scheme.

This initiative reflects the University’s mission to make quality tertiary education accessible to Ghana’s brightest minds. With these efforts, CSU reinforces its identity as a university deeply rooted in Christ-centered values, academic excellence, and community development.
