Dr Cynthia Akuoko Joins 15 PhD Holders at CSUC

CSUC is proud to announce the return of its faculty member, Dr Cynthia Pomaa Akuoko, who undertook her doctoral studies in Australia. She is currently the second female to join 15 existing PhD Holders spread across the four faculties of the University College. Her PhD dissertation title is: ‘Exploring health service and supportive care needs of women with advanced breast cancer in Ghana.’

The Research Identifies both the women and their health care providers and key informants perceived women with ABC have numerous and complex supportive care needs in key areas that align with Fitch’s supportive care framework including informational, psychological, emotional, physical, practical, social, sexuality and spiritual needs. She is a Professional member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Ghana (NMC), African Palliative Care Association (APCA), Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) and International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC), among others. She has accumulated 9 years of lectureship experience with several community services at CSUC and wishes to extend her expertise to support her Faculty in developing its student-learners.
