CSUC President Attends AWARD Leadership and Management Training Workshop

The President of CSUC, Prof. (Mrs.) Frances Owusu-Daaku, took part in a fully sponsored Leadership and Management workshop offered by AWARD (African Women in Agricultural Research and Development) in Nairobi from 6th – 12th April, 2014.

The workshop involved seven days of gruelling but exciting hands on sessions of facilitative lectures interspersed with role plays at the prestigious Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

The President was invited to attend this workshop in her capacity as a mentor to an AWARD fellow, Mrs. Priscilla Francisco Ribeiro, a PhD student working on breeding varieties of maize that can thrive in low-nitrogen soils.

The thirty (30) selected participants, all women, included both mentors and fellows from Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.

One key lesson Prof. (Mrs.) Owusu-Daaku would like to share with all is that, “even though we may be working well in different departments, if each and every person does not see himself or herself as working with all others for a common institutional goal, CSUC will not accomplish whatever task that must be done”.

All shoulders to the one wheel of CSUC.
