I Will Uphold My Christian Values As A Traditional Leader: New Sanaahene Of Kumawu Besoro Pledges

by IAO

Christian Service University College has once again demonstrated that Christians can transform the chieftaincy institution in Ghana by taking up traditional leadership positions. This observation was made during the installation of one of the long serving staff of CSUC, Mr. Charles Kingsley Mainoo, as the Sanaahene (head of treasury) of Besoro in the Kumawu Traditional Area with the stool name Nana Basoah Akwamoako Manu 1. Mr. Mainoo joined CSUC as a Senior Admin. Assistant and has risen through the ranks to become the Senior Assistant Registrar in charge of Academic and Students Affairs.

manu2In his acceptance speech, Nana Akwamoako 1, thanked the chiefs and people of Besoro and pledged to provide transformational leadership to meet the aspirations of the people. He promised that as a devout Christian, who has served as a Steward at Pankrono Ebenezer Methodist Society, and held many auxiliary positions in the church, he will bring his Christian values to bear in his new position as a traditional leader.

As the Sanaahene, Nana Basoah Akwamoako Manu 1, will be responsible for taking custody of all the treasury and properties of the Besoro stool, securing resources to develop the area, and providing advice on developmental projects. The event was well attended by staff, family members, indigens of the area and other well-wishers.

In a related development, Nana Basoah Akwamoako 1 has been officially outdoored to the CSUC community in a short but colourful ceremony. The Chaplain, Rev. Anthony Boateng-Agyenim led a prayer session to intercede for the new chief and asked for God’s guidance and grace upon his reign.
