Online Databases

Electronic or Online Databases are a collections of academic journals that provide
current information for research on diverse academic topics. Libraries usually have two
main forms of subscription to electronic databases; paid (IP Authenticated) and free
(Open Access) subscriptions.

The Chapman Library subscribes to a total of twenty-nine (29) databases, ten (10) of
which are paid subscriptions (through the Consortium of Academic and Research
Libraries in Ghana (CARLIGH)) and the remaining nineteen being free.
The paid subscriptions are accessed via the university’s IP addresses hence can only
be accessed on campus, while using any of our university networks.

Members of the university community are encouraged to use these databases
(especially the paid ones) to acquire up-to-date information on any research they may
be undertaking. The free or open access journals (which have been carefully selected
by the library) provide the academic community an alternate source of rich information
for research off-campus.

Please browse through the list below to select (from the two categories) of online
databases to use. Kindly visit the library and be assisted further with the usage of these
database, if you need to. You can also send us a mail ([email protected]) or
call/WhatsApp (0243223022) for such further assistance.
