Profile Of The Acting-Registrar

1595248695697_img-20190726-wa0000Mrs. Sophia Gifty Awortwi was educated at Wesley Girls’ High School, Cape Coast in the
Central Region of Ghana. She holds a BSc. Education from the University of Cape Coast
in 1975 and obtained Women who are into Senior Management certificate awarded by
Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, GIMPA, Accra, in February, 2002.

Mrs. Awortwi’s career in management and education, beginning in 1975, span a period
of thirty-four years all with the Ghana Education Service (GES) where she worked in
different sections from Senior Secondary Schools to the Administrative and Management
level. She retired in 2009 as Director cum Head of Science Education at the Ghana
Education Service. Overall, she is a retired Educationist, a Biological Scientist,
a Counsellor and a Writer.

She joined CSUC in 2017 as a Counsellor till his new appointment as Acting Registrar in 2020. Prior to joining Christian Service University College,
Mrs. Awortwi had taught Science in Kumasi Technical Secondary School, Kumasi and Yaa Asantewaa Girls Secondary School, Kumasi, respectively.
Thus far, her National Award as a member of the ‘Order of the Volta’ for Education in 2015 speaks volumes of her capabilities poised for the Registry
role. Her exposure to several secondary school administration, professional experience and membership to other professional bodies including
international study visits and conferences have also contributed to the experience she brings on board.
Mrs. Sophia Gifty Awortwi is a Christian, married with five adult children.
