CSUC Marks Graduation Ceremony

CSUC commemorated its 34th Graduation Ceremony to celebrate and award certificates to students who have successfully completed their various programmes.
In all, 462 students passed out from the Theology, Business Administration and the Computer Science programmes.
Out of this number, 53 students obtained first class, 147 students secured second class upper with 217 students attaining second class lower. Twenty two (22) students had third class, while 23 students were awarded with certificates.
The General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Fred Deegbe, speaking on the topic, “Emerging Christian Tertiary Universities: Challenges, Prospects and the Way Forward,” tasked Christian universities in the country to be more resolute in their primary aim of promoting moral values and spiritual lives of people.
He entreated the graduating class to lead exemplary and industrious lives by demonstrating the spiritual knowledge and practical skills gained from the university college.
Prof. Sam Afrane, former Chairman of CSUC Council encouraged the graduands not to rest on their laurels, but inculcate the habit of reading as a stepping stone for reaching higher goals.
He said the university college was committed to its vision of becoming a “world class Christian university that pursues academic excellence and moral uprightness.”
He disclosed that as part of measures to make the university college a centre of excellence, a modern 6-storey studentshostel was being constructed to accommodate students. The hostel when completed will cater for the accommodation needs of about 400 students.
The President of CSUC, Prof.  Emmanuel Frempong, advised the graduands to be ambassadors of the institution, and uphold the college’s motto of “Knowing Christ Better and Making Him Better Known,” by characterizing their professional activities with decorum.
He announced that the university college has introduced academic scholarship and bursary schemes to assist students financially in their various programmes.
