The Christian Service University College(CSUC) is holding its first international conference on the changing dynamics of the cocoa industry within the West African sub-region from the 5th to the 6th of May 2016, at the CSUC campus in Kumasi.
As part of its commitment to promoting knowledge through research and related avenues, the CSUC is providing an opportunity for academia, operators in the cocoa sector, leading industry experts to share insights on topical issues during this maiden conference.
Objectives
The objective for the Conference is to provide a platform for people in academia, cocoa and related industries as well as concerned individuals to share their views on the changing dynamics in the Cocoa Industry. The Conference also aims at providing policy advice to government and key industry players on how to harness the opportunities and challenges confronting the the cocoa industry.
The themaic areas for the conference include;
- Sustainability of quality and high yielding cocoa production and export
- Cocoa production, poverty and child labour
- Investment opportunities in the cocoa industry.
- Small scale mining and its effect on cocoa production
- Cocoa production and climate change
- Storage facilities and transportation challenges of the cocoa industry
- Cocoa purchasing, access roads and security
- Cocoa industry and Corporate Social Responsibility
Who is eligible to attend?
The Conference is open to academia (lecturers and research fellows), cocoa industry practitioners, legislative bodies, policy planners, religious leaders and the general public.
Date and Venue
The Conference is scheduled for May 5th – 6th, 2016 at the Christian Service University College, Kumasi, Ghana.

Expectations
It is expected that this maiden conference will enable academia, industrial analysts and the policy-making fraternity both locally and internationally to provide realistic policy directions and recommendations on the development of the cocoa industry.
Conference Fee
The Conference fee for local participants is GH¢250.00 and $200.00 for international participants.
