CSUC Holds 39th Matriculation Ceremony

CSUC held its 39th Matriculation Ceremony to officially induct newly-admitted students of the 2014/2015 academic year into the University College.

Out of the 716 applications received, 591 applicants were offered admissions. Out of this number, 446 applicants have registered to enroll in various degree and diploma programmes in Nursing, Community Development, Theology, Business Administration, Computer Science and Communication Studies.

The registered students comprise 224 males representing 50.2 per cent and 222 females representing 49.8 per cent. The ceremony was under the theme, “CSUC @ 40 and Growing: Renewing our Identity”.

Addressing matriculants during the ceremony, Prof. Stephen E. Owusu, Vice President of CSUC said as a Christian institution of higher education, CSUC was committed to promoting both the academic and spiritual development of students. He therefore, advised the students to actively participate in CSUC programmes aimed at enhancing their spiritual, technical and professional development.

The Vice President entreated the students to adhere to the rules and regulations of the University College. He also advised them to study assiduously to improve upon their knowledge and build their capacities.

Touching on January 2015 Admissions, Prof. Owusu explained that CSUC was offering another opportunity for candidates who missed the August/September 2014 admission period. He announced that CSUC had opened admissions into its January 2015 regular intake for level 100 applicants, and weekend school designed for busy working professionals.

The Ag. Registrar, Mrs. Cecilia Boakye Botwe assisted by the Deans of the Faculties/Schools and Heads of Departments administered the matriculation oath to the newly-admitted students.
