About The Library

The Christian Service University College Library was named after the late Mr. William Henry Chapman, the first Principal of Christian Service College, now Christian Service University College. The Christian Service College was established in 1974 jointly by the
World Evangelization for Christ (WEC) Mission and some Ghanaian evangelical Christians. Six months before the admission of students in October, 1974 the WEC Mission donated some books to the college which served as the first group of library resources.

Later, in response to appeals made by the college’s authorities, some donations were made to the institution by some organizations which increased the library’s bookstock.
Some of the organizations were:

  • CEplus
  • Union Theological Seminary Library
  • AkrofiChrystaller Library
  • Feed The Minds
  • Worldwide Evangelization for Christ (WEC)

Our Values
Philosophy
The Library operates on the philosophy that each member of the society needs to know Christ better and by this be restored back to God through Christ, which relationship, the entrance of sin came to destroy. At the Christians Services University, students are
seen as potential candidates for heaven and that education, and by extension research at the library, will ultimately guide these students on their heaven bond journey, making Christ better known to them.

Vision
The vision of Chapman library is to lead in quality information service delivery, with a Christian perspective of making Christ better known.

Mission
The mission of Chapman Library is to provide an environment conducive for the advancement of quality teaching, learning and research at the Christian Service University College, in harmony with Christian values and in the spirit of discipline.
