CSUC Admits Fresh Students

CSUC held its 37th Matriculation Ceremony to officially admit fresh students of the 2012/2013 academic year into the University College. They were offered admissions to pursue degree and diploma programmes in Theology, Business Administration, Computer Science and Communication Studies.

The ceremony was under the theme, “The Christian: An Agent of Change.”

Out of the 731 applicants, 388 gained admissions into the University College.

A representative of the Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Prof. William Oduro delivered the keynote address on behalf of Prof. William Otoo Ellis.

Prof. Ellis urged the newly-admitted students to have enthusiasm for activities that they set out to do. He charged them to remain focused and to develop positive attitudes towards their endeavours which he said was the surest way of achieving success.

The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged them to adopt the habit of reading, and learn new things many of which might be irrelevant for now, but might become a powerful tool for self development in future.

Citing Matthew 5:13-16, Prof. Ellis asked the students to act as salt to preserve the decaying society and provide light to illuminate the moral darkness in our society.

Prof. Ellis also lauded CSUC for its marked development achievements over the last few years. “I must confess I have been particularly impressed with the level of development the Christian Service University College has achieved for itself over the last few years; undergoing several restructuring and transformation in an attempt to reposition it as a credible institution”, he said.

Prof. Emmanuel Frempong, President of CSUC advised the students to abide by the rules and regulations of the institution. He again urged them to actively participate in all programmes of the University College to excel not only academically, but also to enhance their moral and spiritual growth.
