CSUC Holds Graduation Ceremony for CBS/SOM Graduates

CSUC held a graduation ceremony to present certificates to 122 graduates for completing courses in Certificate in Biblical Studies (CBS) and School of Ministry (SOM).

Out of the total number, 106 completed CBS while 16 completed SOM.  The event was under the theme “CSUC at 40 Years and Growing: Renewing Our Identity.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. (Mrs.) Frances T. K. Owusu-Daaku, President of CSUC bemoaned the increased noise making in churches today, indicating that it is “serving as a release mechanism for the frustrations of our time”. “These days, the noise is far from joyful and can best be described as babble or croakings,” Prof. (Mrs.) Owusu-Daaku lamented.

The President asked the graduates not to belittle the knowledge gained, but use it as a stepping stone towards reaching greater heights in the Kingdom of God.

The CBS and SOM are certificate programmes organized by the Department of Theology of CSUC. The duration for the CBS is one year while SOM is two weeks.

The programmes are aimed at building the capacity of Christian workers who lack formal theological education. They are ideal for individuals seeking to acquire deeper biblical knowledge and theological understanding to become effective in the Christian ministry. They equip students with practical knowledge of the Bible in areas such as prayer, fasting, healing, deliverance, evangelism and discipleship, as well as the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, and other Christian doctrines.

Separate classes are taught in English and Twi. The CBS/SOM programmes are run on satellite campuses in Obuasi, Techiman and Sunyani.
