Business Development Centre

CORE MANDATE

The Business Development Centre of CSUC was established in September 2016 to create long term value for the University College.

The Centre hopes to do this by harnessing available human and capital resources to grow viable ventures and projects that would accrue to financial dividends for the CSUC to enable it effect its academic mandate.

It also purports to do this by nurturing long term mutually beneficial relationships with its numerous stakeholders such as students, business communities at both local and international levels.

OBJECTIVES OF THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTRE OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

To achieve its mandate, the Centre engages in the following activities:

  • Coordinates internship and job placement for CSUC students.

  • Collaborates with all academic departments to mount short courses.

  • Engages in active fund-raising to meet targets set.

  • Spearheads entrepreneurship development for CSUC students.

  • Disseminates business information of the University College to the business community.

  • Organizes career fairs and training programmes for students, staff and the entire community.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES OF THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The Centre is currently rolling out these activities and programmes:

  • Running three (3) diploma programs of the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM, UK), namely: Accounting and Finance, Journalism and Media Studies, Professional Computing and Information Processing.

  • Organizing final year students’ entrepreneurship programme from February to April, 2017 every Friday.

  • Soliciting for internship placements for students.

  • Running the WASSCE remedial

UPCOMING PROGRAMMES AND ACTIVITIES

By the end of this year, the Centre hopes to have achieved the following:

  • Introduction of the ICM, UK diploma in Legal Studies.

  • Introduction of Community Service Scheme for students.

  • Introduction of ABCE remedial

  • Introduction of leadership seminars and programmes for students.

  • Facilitating the establishment of income generating ventures to help improve the finances of the University College.

  • Commencement of the review of the Strategic Plan of the University College.
